PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- It's starting to feel like summer, and that means the 4th of July is right around the corner. It's a holiday that involves patriotism, grilling, and -- of course -- fireworks.

City of Bowie
There's some great news this year: the city of Bowie will host a free concert and fireworks show at Prince George's Stadium to celebrate the 4th of July. It's the first time since 2014 that the city has hosted an Independence Day celebration. The event will take place July 2 at the home of the Bowie Baysox, according to Capital Gazette.

This year, the city was able to negotiate an agreement with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission -- the owners of the ballpark.
The Fabulous Hubcaps will perform live at 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks show likely will start at around 9:15 p.m. The stadium parking lot opens at 5 p.m., and stadium gates open at 6 p.m.

Six Flags America
If you'd rather enjoy some roller coasters with your fireworks, Six Flags America will be having its July 4th Fest, an event that will last from June 30-July 4 from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. There will be fireworks every night at around 9:15 p.m. in the Gotham City area of the park.
"Celebrate the independence of our beautiful country with FIVE jam packed days of thrills, water park fun, exclusive ride times and fireworks daily from June 30 through July 4," according to the Six Flags website.
University of Maryland
The University of Maryland and the city of College Park will host a 4th of July celebration that will include rock and roll and a fireworks show.
Bring lawn chairs and blankets, as well as your own food if you like, as personal coolers are allowed -- just don't bring any alcohol. Concessions will also be available.
The event will take place at Lot 1 adjacent to Campus Drive off Adelphi Road. Concessions open at 5 p.m., entertainment begins at 7 p.m., and fireworks start a little after 9 p.m.
