Prince George's County Celebrates National Night Out

Residents mingled with police and emergency responders Tuesday night to stand up against crime and dedicate a fallen officers memorial.

National Night Out -- an evening when police meet neighbors to celebrate communities -- was more than bounce houses and food.

Prince George’s County officials on Tuesday night unveiled a memorial for the PGPD’s fallen heroes at the District VI station in Beltsville. Police Chief Mark Magaw spoke at the unveiling ceremony.

Also on Tuesday, the Bowie Police Department hosted residents at Allen Pond Park. Festivities at the event included law enforcement displays, information booths, free food and drinks provided by Target, Texas Roadhouse and other local businesses, demonstrations and the chance to drop people you know into a dunk tank.
