Alsobrooks Wins Nomination For Another Term: PG County Exec Race

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Polls are now closed in Prince George's County where voters cast their ballots for everything from governor to County Council, county executive, sheriff and school board.

Vote totals from the Prince George's County election office reported Angela D. Alsobrooks led with 90.63 percent of the votes.

For County Council At Large, Calvin S. Hawkins, Jr. captured 36.83 of the Democratic party's votes.

For District 1, Tom Dernoga ran unopposed as the Democratic candidate.

For District 2, Wanika Fisher captured 49.05 percent of the Democratic party's votes.

For District 3, Eric C. Olson had 51.47 percent of the votes for the Democratic candidates.

For District 4, Ingrid S. Harrison had 51.90 percent of the Democratic party's votes.

In District 5, Jolene Ivey ran unopposed for the Democratic party.

In District 6, Wala Blegay had 30.91 percent of the votes.

For District 7, Gary Fallas ran unopposed for the Republican party. Krystal Oriadha had 58.35 percent of the votes.

In District 8, Edward Burroughs, III, led with 72.57 percent of the votes for the Democratic candidates.

For District 9, Sydney Harrison captured 68.48 percent of the votes for the Democratic party.

Election officials closed the lines to vote Tuesday at 8 p.m. Anybody in line by that time is allowed to vote. Polling locations will close when everybody in line has voted. Maryland will only release the results for statewide races when every polling place in the state has closed. That means there are not yet any results available in the governor's race.
