Prince George's County Police Officer Indicted by Grand Jury

The officer is accused of a scheme involving theft, police say.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A Prince George's County police officer has been suspended without pay after a grand jury indicted him on a charge of a "theft scheme," according to a report from the PG County Police Department.

Corporal Cordell Barbour, a nine-year veteran of the police force who works in patrol, faces charges relating to his conduct between April and June of this year, the report states. He was first suspended back on June 30.

The Internal Affairs Division started investigating Barbour in April after "learning of potential misconduct involving Barbour's secondary employment compensation," the report states.
