Prince George's County Schools Make March 15 Weather Decision

Prince George's County Public Schools make schedule changes for March 15.

BOWIE, MD — Prince George's County Public Schools will open with a two-hour delay on Wednesday, March 15. The district says the Code Orange means schools and offices will open later than normal, while emergency personnel must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave.

Many DC area schools are starting late Wednesday in hopes that roads will be closer to normal after snow, sleet and a re-freeze.

The school system says:

  • There will be NO work-study transportation. (Those students should NOT report to school.)
  • There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day Pre-K.
  • Any other school program requiring transportation prior to noon will NOT have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center.
  • All field trips will be canceled.
  • Food Services will offer breakfast.

Miércoles, 15 de marzo - Código Naranja - Las escuelas comenzarán dos horas después del horario normal.

  • NO habrá transporte para el programa Work-Study. (Esos estudiantes NO deben reportarse a la escuela).
