Prince George's County Schools Make Wednesday Decision

With numbing wind chills, chance for more snow predicted, the school system is changing plans. One school is closed because it lacks heat.

Prince George’s County Public Schools will start classes two hours late Wednesday, Feb. 18, because of the predicted wind chills and chance of snow.

While schools and offices will open with a two-hour delay, emergency personnel must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave. (Las escuelas comenzarán dos horas después del horario normal.)

· There will be no work-study transportation. Those students should not report to school.)

· There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center, half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day PreK.

· Any other school program requiring transportation before noon will not have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center

· All field trips will be cancelled.

· Food Services will offer breakfast.

Barack Obama Elementary School ONLY is closed because of a heating issue.
