Proposed Pecan Ridge Development: Public Hearing Planned Dec. 10
A developer wants to build 80 homes in the northern part of the city.

BOWIE, MD -Another public hearing is in the works to discuss preliminary plans for a proposed housing development that would bring 80 homes to the Bowie area.
The Pecan Ridge subdivision, which would include single-family, detached homes, would be built at the end of Old Laurel Bowie Road, city leaders said. Caruso Homes, the developer for the project, specializes in new luxury homes in communities in Maryland and North Carolina.
The proposed subdivision would sit on 42 acres of land, according to city officials.

The city's advisory planning board will host a public hearing to discuss the housing development on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.
City council will host a second public hearing on Monday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m.

Both meetings will be held inside council chambers at city hall, which is located at 15901 Excalibur Rd. The public is encouraged to offer input by attending either hearing.
