Prostitution Laws Violated By Greenbelt Cop: Prince George's County Police

The Prince George's County Police Department has arrested and charged a Greenbelt police officer with violating Maryland's prostitution laws

GREENBELT, MD — A Greenbelt police officer has been arrested and charge with violating Maryland prostitution laws.

The Prince George's County Police Department issued a criminal summons Feb. 16 for Greenbelt Police Officer Albert Murray who has been with the police department since Jan. 6, 2020.

According to a statement released by the Greenbelt Police Department, Murray has been placed on administrative leave and his police powers have been suspended pending the criminal case. The department also will conduct its own internal affairs investigation.

“The Greenbelt Police Department is committed to transparency at all levels and will continue to cooperate with the Prince George’s County Police Department’s investigation,” said Chief Richard Bowers. “These actions are not reflective of the men and women of the Greenbelt Police Department and do not reflect our standards.”
