UPDATE: Puppy Snatched At Gunpoint Reunited With Owner

Prince George's County detectives are seeking a couple considered armed and dangerous who stole a puppy at gunpoint in Landover.

UPDATE (Dec. 31, 2019, 6 p.m.): Prince George's County Police report that Lobo was reunited with his family Tuesday afternoon. A citizen spotted Lobo alone in Southeast on Dec. 31 and recognized him from the local media coverage. He called police and PGCPD detectives drove to D.C. to pick up the puppy. A family member retrieved Lobo at PGCPD headquarters. Police are still investigating the armed robbery.

LANDOVER, MD -- Prince George's County Police detectives are looking for two suspects who snatched a puppy a gunpoint from its owner in Landover on Monday, according to a police release.

The victim told detectives from the Regional Investigation Division that he was walking his puppy named Lobo Monday, Dec. 30, at around 1:40 p.m. at Kent Village Drive and E. Ridge Drive, when he saw a car pass and then stop a short distance in front of him. After exiting the car, a woman walked to the trunk. She then approached the victim from behind, pointed a gun at him and demanded he hand over the dog.

The dog owner grabbed the gun and the two struggled over the weapon. A second suspect, an adult male, approached and then the victim released the gun. Several times, the female suspect pulled the trigger on the gun, but it failed to discharge. She then grabbed the puppy and fled with the male suspect. The victim had suffered minor injuries.

The suspects fled the scene in a gray Ford Crown Victoria with Virginia tags. Police say that it's missing a rear passenger side hubcap and the hood and front fender are black. The female suspect is described as having face tattoos.

Police warn that the suspects are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees Lobo, the suspects or the vehicle should not approach. Instead, they should call 911 at once.
