Rape Charges Filed, Suspect Followed Woman from Metro Station: Police

A tip to Crime Solvers led Prince George's County Police to arrest a man for the sexual assault of a woman at a Landover business.

Landover, MD — Detectives have charged a man for raping a woman he allegedly followed from a Metro station to a Landover business, where she was sexually assaulted.

A tip from the public led police to arrest Jahahree Chester, 24, of no fixed address, in the attack.

Prince George's County Police last week asked for the community’s help to identify and find the assault suspect, and shared surveillance images of him. The assault took place shortly before 6:45 a.m. June 9 in the 4000 block of Garden City Drive in Landover.

Investigators say Chester and victim did not know each other. Detectives believe Chester followed the victim from the New Carrollton Metro Station.

Chester is charged with first- and second-degree sex offense and first- and second-degree assault and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Correction on a no-bond status.
