Riverdale Mom, Daughter Hit by Vehicle Crossing Street

The 31-year-old Riverdale woman died at the scene, while her young daughter is in critical condition.

A Riverdale woman was killed and her young daughter critically injured after they were hit by a car while crossing Riverdale Road Monday afternoon.

The Prince George’s County Police Department says Thelma Fernandez Flores, 31, of Quintana Street in Riverdale and her daughter were hit by a vehicle about 4:20 p.m. Monday. The accident occurred in the 5800 block of Riverdale Road as the pair were walking in the crosswalk.

Fernandez Flores was pronounced dead on the scene. The child was rushed to an area hospital.

Police say the driver remained on the scene. He was not hurt.
