Santa, Christmas Tree Lighting to Start Bowie Holidays
The Bowie High School marching band will perform Thursday to kick off the Town Center tree-lighting ceremony.

Bowie Town Center will kick off the holiday season with “The Great Tree Lighting” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12.
According to a news release, the free event will feature Bowie Mayor Frederick G. Robinson, a performance by the Bowie High School marching band and the debut appearance by Santa Claus. The band will march down a portion of Emerald Way, followed by a meet and greet with Santa and some of his friends.
Local families may join in the celebration by making holiday-inspired crafts while waiting for Santa and his elves to light the tree outside the food court.
