Savor Bowie 2016 This Weekend to Benefit Concerts for Causes

The free taste of area wineries, restaurants, music and cars will be held April 23 and 24 at Bowie Town Center.

BOWIE, MD — Savor Bowie 2016 -- a two-day outdoor festival featuring complimentary tastings from top wineries with offerings from area restaurants -- will be held this Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24 at Bowie Town Center.

According to a news release from organizers, the event will tantlize local foodies, wine-connoisseurs and musicians. Wineries such as Boordy Vineyards, Great Shoals Winery, Olney Winery and Romano Vineyard and Winery, will take part this weekend, as well as restaurants, including Sherri’s Crab Cakes, Asian Taste and Jammin Flava.

The event will also showcase local artisans, live music and a classic car show. Savor Bowie will benefit Concerts for Causes, a local organization which raises money to provide musical instruments for deserving students in under-served communities.

Bowie Town Center’s main road will be closed for pedestrians to enjoy unfettered access to the local wares and musical acts, which will perform on stages in front of Macy’s and Sears.

Sponsors include Safeway, Macy’s, PNC Bank, DARCARS Honda of Bowie, Nissan of Bowie, Giant Food, Industrial Bank and Maryland Lottery.
