School Supplies Needed At PG County Schools Block Party
The Stuff A Bus block parties, planned Aug. 8 and Aug. 10, will give the community a chance to donate school supplies to students in need.
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — Prince George’s County Public Schools will host two back to school block parties this weekend, giving community members a chance to donate school supplies to students in need through the district’s Stuff A Bus program.
The block parties will be Aug. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Wegmans, and Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bowie Town Center. School officials are inviting local residents who attend to participate in the district’s 10,000 Backpack Challenge, which aims to provide 10,000 PG County students with a backpack and school supplies for the upcoming school year.
The district is asking for the following school supply donations:

- Backpacks: red, blue, yellow, green or clear.
- Elementary school supplies: wide-ruled composition books, crayons, glue sticks and No. 2 pencils.
- Middle and high school supplies: college-ruled notebook paper, blue/black pens, highlighters and pocket folders.
Interested in teaching at PG County schools? Human resources specialists will also be available at the Stuff A Bus events to talk potential jobs with interested candidates.
