Seat Pleasant Woman Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 63-Year-Old Stepfather: PGPD

A 39-year-old Seat Pleasant woman has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of her stepfather, Prince George's Police say.

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — A 39-year-old Seat Pleasant woman has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of her 63-year-old stepfather.

On May 10 at approximately 6:35 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 6500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in the unincorporated section of District Heights for a report of a shooting. They found Gregory Byrd, Sr., of District Heights outside with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died of his injuries on May 22.

At the time of the shooting, detectives identified Brigette Robertson as the suspect and obtained a warrant charging Robertson with attempted first-degree murder and related charges. On May 11, the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Fugitive Unit located and arrested Robertson in Clinton. She remains in custody.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Robertson shot her stepfather during an argument.
