Shooting Leads To Lockdown Of Springhill Lake Elementary School: Police
Springhill Lake Elementary School was placed on a brief lockdown Tuesday after police responded to a report of a shooting in the area.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Springhill Lake Elementary School was placed on a short lockdown Tuesday shortly before 1 p.m. when Greenbelt police officers were called to the area for a shooting.
According to Greenbelt Police, they received a report of a shooting in the 6200 block of Springhill Drive. They found a 29-year-old man with injuries from a gunshot wound that weren't life threatening. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Officers later learned that the man had been shot in the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace.
