Snow Disappears from PG County Sunday Forecast, But May Come Back Tuesday

How much snow does PG County typically get in March? It's more than you think.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — So there's good news and bad news if you still want some snow before the season's over: the chances of it happening in Prince George's County on Sunday have all but evaporated, but now there's a solid chance we get some on Tuesday.

The snowstorm that was supposed to at least graze us on Sunday has shifted north and now we have a whopping zero percent chance of precipitation on Sunday. But the chance of snow on Tuesday is now at 90 percent, with Weather.com projecting "a mixture of wintry precipitation in the morning will change to rain and snow showers mixed in the afternoon" with about an inch of snow and ice accumulating. Those showers will turn back into snow in the evening if the forecast holds, with another 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

The previous forecast only called for a 40 percent chance of snow on Sunday, so this at least appears to be a better chance -- although, of course, you never know what will happen over the next few days.

So how much snow does Prince George's County get in March, anyway? It's more than you probably think. According to Intellicast, Bowie gets an average of 2.1 inches of snow in March, a figure we may still hit this time around.
