Stolen Cab Leads to 30-Mile Chase Over Bay Bridge: Police

The cab was reportedly carjacked from a Prince George's County Metro station; the chase ended in Anne Arundel County.

A 30-mile chase Wednesday ended on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge after a taxi was reportedly carjacked outside the Addision Metro Station in Prince George’s County, authorities say.

The carjacking occurred just before 2 p.m. and the stolen taxi was seen by Metro Transit Police on eastbound Route 50, reports, WJLA TV. Officers said the suspect vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit began with units fromPrince George’s County Police, Maryland State Police, Anne Arundel County Police, and MTA/Bay Bridge Police joining the chase.

Officers stopped the cab about 2:25 p.m. on the CheapeakeBay Bridge in Anne Arundel County.

Authorities identified the suspected driver of the stolen cab as Chauncey Wayne Slaughter, 24, of Suitland.

Police said Slaughter was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the chase.
