Suspect In 70-Year-Old's Fatal Stabbing Found In North Carolina: Prince George's Police

The suspect in a 70-year-old Beltsville man's fatal stabbing has been tracked to North Carolina where he's awaiting extradition, police say.

BELTSVILLE, MD — A suspect has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing of 70-year-old Lucas Pineda Cardona of Beltsville who was found in dead in his home.

Prince George's Police were called to the home in the 11400 block of Queen Anne Avenue for a report of a stabbing March 10 around 9 p.m. They found Pineda Cardona with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.

The preliminary investigation indicates that 21-year-old Jose Hernandez Martinez of Beltsville fatally stabbed Pineda Cardona. The two men knew each other and lived together in the home.

Hernandez Martinez has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as related charges. He was taken into custody in Pittsboro, North Carolina, Tuesday and awaits extradition to Prince George's County.
