Suspect Arrested in Temple Hills Homicide

Search is underway for second suspect, say Prince George's police.

The Prince George’s County police announced Monday that they arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide in Temple Hills last month. They said the shootings apparently occurred during a robbery attempt.

The suspect is 27-year-old David Benjamin Neal of the 2300 block of Owens Road in Oxon Hill. Officers arrested Neal at his home on Sept. 25, the police said in a statement. He’s charged with first and second degree murder and a gun charge, and is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Police detectives also obtained an arrest warrant and are searching for a second suspect, identified as 26-year-old Walker Jamal Davis of the 5800 block of Terence Drive in Clinton.

At about 10 p.m. Sept. 17, patrol officers responded to the 4700 block of 23rd Parkway for the report of a shooting, according to a police statement. When they arrived, they found 26-year-old Karria Mary Suggs of 51st Street in Bladensburg suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

A second victim was also shot, police said, and he survived his injuries. “The preliminary investigation reveals the shootings stemmed from a robbery attempt,” the police said in the statement.
