Suspect In Man's Fatal Shooting At Youth Football Game Charged: Prince George's Police

The suspect in a fatal shooting at a youth football game where a 5-year-old child also was injured has been charged, police say.

OXON HILL, MD — A suspect has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a spectator at a youth football game June 15.

The shooting happened around 11:20 a.m. at Potomac High School. Christopher Mozee, 33, of District Heights, was found with gunshot wounds in the bleachers. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital. A 5-year-old child also was shot, but that injury wasn't considered life-threatening, according to Prince George's Police.

Dajuon Meniefield, 29, of Bowie was identified as the suspect. The PGPD's fugitive unit tracked down Meniefield and took him into custody. He's been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges. Police said Mozee and Meniefield knew each other and were arguing at the time of the shooting.
