Suspect In Oxon Hill Fatal Shooting Convicted

The suspect identified in the 2025 fatal shooting of a Washington, D.C., man in Oxon Hill has been convicted.

OXON HILL, MD — The suspect wanted in the 2025 fatal shooting of Deon Damien Thomas has been convicted.

On July 12, 2025, Prince George's police officers were called to the 5000 block of Indian Head Highway for a report of a shooting around 8:20 p.m. They found 31-year-old Thomas of Washington, D.C., with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The suspect, Daniel Jackson, has been convicted of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence and related charges.
