Suspect Wanted In Riverdale Park Fatal Shooting Arrested
The suspect wanted in the fatal July 30 shooting that happened in Riverdale Park has been arrested and charged, according to police.
RIVERDALE PARK, MD — The suspect wanted in a fatal shooting that happened last week in Riverdale Park has been arrested.
The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. on July 30 in an apartment located in the 5400 block of Kenilworth Terrace. Police officers found the victim, 44-year-old Dolores Leiva Hernandez of Riverdale Park, in the apartment with a gunshot wound.
Leiva Hernandez died at the scene, according to police.

The suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Noe Castillo Mendez of Riverdale Park, was taken into custody a short time after the shooting. He was charged with second-degree murder and related counts, Prince George's Police announced Tuesday.
The preliminary investigation showed Castillo Mendez and the victim knew each other. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
