PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two men from Washington, D.C., have been charged in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in June.
On June 22 around 5:50 p.m., Prince George's police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 3200 block of Naylor Road in Temple Hills. Tyzaiah Gaither, 19, of Washington, D.C., was found outside with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.
Detectives identified 49-year-old Jeffrey Coachman and 53-year old Recco Bouknight as the suspects who shot Gaither multiple times. Detectives believe Gaither attempted to steal money from Coachman before the shooting. After shooting Gaither in the parking lot, Coachman intentionally ran him over with his car as he and Bouknight fled the scene, police disclosed.
