AT&T Outage Knocks Out 911 Service in PG County Wednesday Night
A nationwide outage took two hours to resolve, forcing those with an emergency in PG County to call an alternate number.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — An AT&T outage resulted in nationwide disruptions to 911 service Wednesday night, including in PG County, where anyone having an emergency over a two-hour period had to call an alternate number to get through to dispatchers.
PG County police first tweeted that there was a problem with 911 service at around 10:30 p.m., although reports indicate the problems started much earlier.
Police urged anyone having an emergency to call 301-352-1243.

At around 10:30 p.m., AT&T indicated that the problem had been fixed. PG County confirmed this at around 11 p.m.
"We apologize to those who were affected," the company tweeted.
