Teen Fatally Shot In PG County, Police Search For Suspect

BRENTWOOD, MD — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a teenage boy that happened late Friday afternoon.

Prince George's police officers were called to the 3700 block of Shepherd Street around 4:55 p.m. for a report of a shooting. They found 16-year-old Ruben Arevalo Saavedra of Hyattsville outside with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene, according to police.

Detectives are actively working to identify a suspect(s) and determine a motive.
