Teen Killed In Car Crash, Prince George's Police Ask For Public's Help

A 17-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash that also injured four other people in the car, according to Prince George's Police.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 17-year-old died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash that happened in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. Shortly before 6 p.m., officers arrived at the area of Kettering Drive and Kettering Place for a call about a collision.

According to the police department, Janiya Thompson was a passenger in a car traveling westbound on Kettering Drive, when for reasons that are under investigation, the car left the roadway and struck a tree. Thompson was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver and another passenger were taken to the hospital with what appear to be minor injuries. The remaining two passengers were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the police department reported.
