Teen Shot Multiple Times at Recreation Center: Police
Prince George's County authorities say the 16-year-old ran to a nearby Oxon Hill fire station for help after he was shot.

A teenager was chased by an armed group and shot several times Thursday at the Birchwood Community Park and Recreation Center, 1331 Fenwood Ave. in Oxon Hill.
The Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Prince George’s County Division, is investigating the shooting.
The 16-year-old boy was shot about 9:15 p.m. after he met the group, all acquaintances, on the grounds of the recreation center. When the group spotted him walking in the park, they chased him; one of the four had a handgun and fired at the teen, striking him several times.

Police found the victim nearby at the Oxon Hill Volunteer Fire Department, where he had run to seek safety and get medical attention. He was later taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where he is currently listed in good condition.

wielding attackers led to the shooting. Although the victim is familiar with his assailants, he is currently unable to supply investigators with precise information about their identities, police say.
