Teens Accused of Killing Friend in Adelphi After Disagreement

Police found 20-year-old Henry Lopez-Hernandez dead from trauma to his upper body.

ADELPHI, MD — Two men are in custody on murder charges after police say they killed their friend in Adelphi after having a disagreement.

Police responded to the 8000 block of Riggs Road at around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 after receiving a request to check on the welfare of a man, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department. They found 20-year-old Henry Lopez-Hernandez of Cincinnati, Ohio, suffering from "trauma to his upper body," the police report states, noting that Lopez-Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested two men in connection with the crime: 19-year-old Hernan Sanchez-Vasquez of Silver Spring and 17-year-old Herminio Gonzalez-Sanchez of Hyattsville. Both face charges of first and second degree murder and are being held without bond.

"The preliminary investigation reveals the suspects and victim had a disagreement prior to the homicide," the report states.

Police say both of them admitted to their involvement in the homicide.
