Thanksgiving 2021: What's Open, Closed In Prince George's County
Patch has the scoop on what's open and closed in Prince George's County for Thanksgiving 2021, including when your trash will be picked up.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — All Prince George's County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving; centers and the animal services facility will be closed Thursday. The landfill also will be closed Thursday. Bowie city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday as well.
Prince George’s County residents using county-contracted trash and recycling collection will have their Thursday trash collection bumped to Friday and Friday's trash collection will move to Saturday. There won't be any bulky trash pickups Friday. There will not be any trash or recycling pickup on Thursday or Friday for Bowie residents. Collection will resume on the next regularly scheduled day.
On Thanksgiving Day, Metrorail will operate from 7 a.m. to midnight and trains will serve 89 out of 91 stations. Parking will be free at Metro-owned garages and parking lots. TheBus will not be in operation Thanksgiving Day.

Prince George's County Public Schools will be closed Wednesday through Friday, with classes resuming Monday.
Most banks will be closed and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed Thanksgiving Day, too.
