These Are MD’s Best Graduate Schools, U.S. News Says In New Ranking

Eight colleges in Maryland were ranked among the Best Graduate Schools in the country by U.S. News and World Report, which released its annual rankings Tuesday.

The rankings, intended as a guide for prospective graduate students, evaluate programs in a variety of disciplines, including engineering, medicine, business, law, education, nursing and social sciences.

In Maryland, the following institutions were ranked among the top colleges in their respective categories:

Best Business Schools

• #43: University of Maryland - College Park
• #87: Loyola University Maryland, Baltimore
• #123-134: Morgan State University, Baltimore

Best Law Schools

• #62: University of Maryland, Baltimore
• #136: University of Baltimore

Best Engineering Schools

• #18: University of Maryland - College Park
• #105: University of Maryland - Baltimore County, Baltimore

Best Nursing Schools: Master’s

• #2: Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore
• #17: University of Maryland, Baltimore

Best Education Schools

• #13: Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore
• #24: University of Maryland - College Park
• #126: Bowie State University, Bowie

Because each program is different, the rankings methodologies vary by discipline and graduate degree level.

Best Fine Arts Schools: Master’s (MFA)
