Tips Lead to Triple Homicide Suspect's Arrest: Police
Five adults were shot in District Heights, with 3 fatalities. A $25,000 reward for tips that lead to arrest helped catch the suspect.
District Heights, MD — A Capitol Heights man is in custody for the triple homicide in a Forestville house that also injured two people, and police say tips from the public led to the arrest.
Prince George's Police said Thursday that the murder suspect is Lawrence Sylvester Rogers Jr., 24, of the 5500 block of Rollins Lane in Capitol Heights.
He is charged with murder in the fatally shootings of Carlina Renee Gray, 50, of Orleans Avenue in District Heights; Jan Marie Parks, 55, of Dunbar Avenue in Landover; and Allen Rowlett, 60, of Marion Street in Forestville.

Two other people were also shot in the house about 9:35 p.m. on June 24. Police say one victim remains in critical condition and the other suffered non-life threatening injuries. Their names have not been released by investigators.
Authorities had previously released surveillance video of the gunman that showed him inside a convenience store in the 7400 block of Marlboro Pike in Forestville, and running from the crime scene. Still images of the accused shooter were also made public in an effort to identify the killer.

It’s believed the suspect acted alone, say detectives, who have not disclosed a possible motive for the shootings.
A reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
Numerous tips from the community helped detectives establish Rogers as the shooting suspect. Rogers was arrested Wednesday night in Washington, D.C., on three counts of first- and second-degree murder.
He remains in custody, awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
