Toddler Shot In Bowie, Leaving Him In Critical Condition: Police

A toddler was shot in Bowie on Monday evening, police said. The child is in critical condition, officers added.

BOWIE, MD — Police said a 3-year-old boy was shot in Bowie on Monday evening. He is in critical condition, officers explained.

An incident report indicated that police heard word of unknown trouble in the 16400 block of Governors Bridge Road around 6:15 p.m. Officers noted that they found the wounded child upon arrival. It is not clear who pulled the trigger or if it was intentional.

The homicide unit of the Prince George's County Police Department will handle the investigation, the write-up advised. This is normal protocol for serious gun crimes committed in the City of Bowie.
