Tractor-Trailer Spills Potatoes, Onions On PG County Highway: Report
The crash happened early Friday morning and snarled traffic for hours.

CHEVERLY, MD — A tractor-trailer crashed on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway early Friday morning, spilling potatoes and onions and forcing some lanes to close for hours, according to authorities and reports.
U.S. Park Police said the single-car crash happened on southbound Baltimore-Washington Parkway near Route 50. Southbound traffic was diverted to Route 202 for several hours.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m., WTOP reported. All roads had reopened by 7:30 a.m, according to police.

U.S. Park Police Sgt. Thomas Twiname told WTOP the driver of the tractor-trailer should not have been on the parkway. Generally, commercial vehicles are prohibited from using National Park roadways, which includes the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries, WTOP reported.
