Traffic Alert: Inner Loop Lane Closures Begin Tuesday Night

Beginning Tuesday night and continuing each weeknight until all work is complete, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s (State Highway Administration will temporarily close traffic lanes on the inner loop (southbound) of I-95/I-495 (Capital Beltway) at the MD 450 (Annapolis Road) interchange in Prince George’s County.

The closures will allow crews to repair the concrete driving surface on the Capital Beltway Bridge over MD 450.

At 9 p.m., workers will close a single left lane on the Inner Loop of I-95/I-495, two lanes at 10 p.m. and three lanes at 11 p.m. to complete the repairs. All lanes should reopen by 5 a.m. each day, weather permitting.

Officials ask drivers to be patient as crews work on the project. The need for the repair was discovered through a routine maintenance inspection.
