Traffic Alert: Major Weekend Events Likely to Cause Delays in Prince George's County
The 2015 Joint Base Andrews Air Show, Washington vs. St. Louis game at FedEx Field, and Hispanic Festival will tie up traffic in the county.

An air show, culture festivals and a Washington Redskins game are some of the events in Prince George’s County on Sept. 19 and 20 that will make driving a nightmare, officials warn.
Residents, visitors, and through traffic may encounter congestion. All drivers are encouraged to use caution and plan ahead for alternative routes and possible delays.

Memorial Services for Del. James E. Proctor Jr., Clinton
The funeral for Delegate James E. Proctor Jr., a member of the Maryland House of Delegates since 1990 representing the 27th Legislative District, will take place on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s of Piscataway Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway Road, in Clinton. Visitation is from 9 a.m. - 11:15 a.m., with reflections beginning at 11:15 a.m. and Mass starting at noon. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton.

2015 Joint Base Andrews Air Show, Camp Springs
Making its return to Prince George’s County after a five-year hiatus, the 2015 Joint Base Andrews Air Show is free and open to the public. Over 100,000 visitors and dignitaries are expected to attend. Gates open at 9 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 11:30 a.m., and aerial demonstrations from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Parking for the Air Show will be at FedEx Field and Branch Avenue Metro Station with shuttles running from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Shuttles returning attendees to their vehicles will run until after the final performance.
23rd Annual Bluebird Blues Festival, Prince George’s Community College, Largo
Taking place from noon to 6 p.m., the 23rd Annual Bluebird Blues Festival has become one of the County’s premier events. Each year, the festival attracts an average of 12,000 people, dozens of vendors, and national blues acts. The event is free and open to the public.
The festival includes two stages, a main stage with a headline performer and three nationally known artists; the smaller stage features three additional acts and a blues workshop conducted by a blues scholar. Children can participate in face painting, roving artists, tattoo art and many other events sponsored by The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Alcohol and pets, excluding service animals, are not permitted.

Washington Redskins vs. St. Louis Rams, FedEx Field, Landover

34th Annual Hispanic Festival, Adelphi
This Sunday, September 20, 2015, from Noon to 6 p.m., the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation will present its 34th annual Hispanic Festival at Lane Manor Park, 7601 West Park Drive and University Boulevard, in Adelphi.
This free festival, which regularly draws more than 10,000 people, will feature carnival games, arts and crafts, two stages of entertainment, and delicious food celebrating Hispanic culture and heritage. Various Prince George’s County Government departments and agencies will also be on hand to provide resources, opportunities, and information to attendees.
