Transgender Teacher Settles Harassment, Discrimination Lawsuit Against PGCPS

A transgender teacher has settled her harassment and discrimination lawsuit filed against the Prince George's County Public Schools.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A harassment and discrimination lawsuit filed by a transgender teacher against Prince George's County Public Schools has been settled.

Jennifer Eller, 45, who left the school system in 2017, received financial compensation and requires the school district to make improvements to its policies, procedures and training to protect transgender students and staff, reports the Washington Post. According to the lawsuit, she first reported the harassment in 2011 when she came out to her principal at Kenmoor Middle School in Landover.

However, students called her a pedophile, according to her complaint, and an administrator instructed Eller to not wear skirts or dresses because it would make other people uncomfortable, the lawsuit noted.
