PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY โ€” The Prince George's County council is taking the next steps in bringing back trash pick-ups twice a week.

Council member Monique Anderson-Walker said her office has been working to come up with solutions for two-day trash pick-ups.

โ€œAs I promised during my campaign for office, my staff and I have been working diligently to bring back two-day-a-week trash pick-up, leaf pick-up, and more consistent bulk trash pick-up to our county.โ€ Anderson-Walker said in a press release, โ€œWe understand the importance of adding an additional trash day for health and environmental reasons.โ€

Last December, Anderson-Walkerโ€™s office submitted a request to draft legislation reexamining the financial affect of twice-a-week trash collection in comparison to once-a-week trash collection.

According to the press release, Prince Georgeโ€™s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks agreed the county council should proceed with efforts to bring back twice-a-week trash pick-ups because of the volume of household trash and health concerns.
