Trench Collapses, Killing Utility Worker In Prince George's County
A utility worker died Wednesday morning after he was trapped up to his chest in a collapsed trench in Oxon Hill, police said.

OXON HILL, MD โ A utility worker died Wednesday morning after he was trapped up to his chest in a collapsed trench on Neptune Avenue in Oxon Hill, police said.
The man worked as a contractor for Sagres Construction and was performing work at a water main replacement project in the 700 block of Neptune Ave. when the trench collapsed, officials with Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission said.
Firefighters were called to the scene at about 10 a.m. and found the man trapped in a trench about three feet wide. The man died on the scene, police said. His name has not yet been released.

This case remains under investigation. Neptune Avenue between Kenmont Road and Dunster Drive will remain closed for several hours due to recovery efforts, police said.
