Dirt Bike Driver Dies 2 Days After Colliding With Truck: Police

A 27-year-old dirt bike driver has died two days after he collided with a pickup truck on Annapolis Road, police say.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 27-year-old Hyattsville man riding a dirt bike on Annapolis Road has died two days after he collided with a pickup truck.

On Nov. 6 around 6:25 p.m., officers with the Bladensburg Police Department were called to the 4900 block of Annapolis Road where they found Mario Alemendarez with trauma. He was taken to a hospital where he died Nov. 8.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Alemendarez was traveling eastbound on Annapolis Road on a dirt bike and the driver of a pickup truck was heading westbound. The pickup truck and dirt bike collided when the truck’s driver attempted to turn left into a parking lot. The involved driver remained on the scene, the Prince George's Police Department reported.
