Tuesday Virtual Meeting To Address MD 197 Widening Project In Prince George's
After being tabled for several years, the MD 197 widening project in Prince George's County will be addressed in a virtual meeting Tuesday.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The Maryland State Highway Administration has restarted the MD 197 widening project, which has been tabled for several years. The agency has scheduled a virtual public information session on the project design for April 26 at 6:30 p.m.
Residents and other interested parties can participate in the session and submit questions using the Q&A feature of the virtual meeting software. Comments about the project can also be submitted on the SHA project information page.
The MD 197 (Collington Road) Kenhill Drive to MD 450 (Annapolis Road) project includes widening MD 197 from tw o lanes to four lanes, realigning and enhancing the existing shared-use path along northbound MD 197, noise abatement along both sides of MD 197, and relocating aerial and underground utilities.

Relating to improvements on this stretch of highway, SHA has changed the speed limit on MD 197 between Kenhill Drive and MD 450 from 40 mph to 35 mph that took effect April 11.
