LANDOVER, MD — Legendary rock group U2 has released their "U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017" schedule, and FedEx Field in the D.C. area is on the list this summer.
The tour will begin in Vancouver on May 12 and will include the band's first ever U.S. festival headline appearance at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee. U2 will make their stop at FedEx Field in Prince George's County on Tuesday, June 20, in between visits to Philadelphia (June 18) and Toronto (June 23), according to a statement from the group.

As the name implies, the tour will highlight U2's 1987 mega-hit album, "The Joshua Tree," featuring singles like "With or Without You" and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."
“Recently I listened back to The Joshua Tree for the first time in nearly 30 years,” lead singer Bono said in the statement. “It’s quite an opera. A lot of emotions which feel strangely current, love, loss, broken dreams, seeking oblivion, polarisation… all the greats... I’ve sung some of these songs a lot… but never all of them. I’m up for it, if our audience is as excited as we are… it’s gonna be a great night. Especially when we play at home. Croke Park.. it’s where the album was born, 30 years ago.”
