Unconscious Dog Rescued From Burning Garage By Firefighters

A family's dog found unconscious in a burning garage at their Bowie home was given first aid and resuscitated by medics.

Prince George's firefighters were called to a home located in the 2900 block of Tarragon Lane for a house fire. They found the single-family home with smoke coming from the garage. The fire was quickly extinguished, officials reported.

BOWIE, MD — A dog with symptoms of smoke inhalation found unconscious in a garage that was on fire received first aid from emergency workers who successfully resuscitated the family pet.

Prince George's firefighters were called to a home located in the 2900 block of Tarragon Lane for a house fire Saturday. They found the single-family home with smoke coming from the garage. The fire was quickly extinguished, officials reported.

While searching the garage, the family's dog was found unconscious. Medics used specially designed animal CPR masks and resuscitated the dog before reuniting it with its family to be checked out by their veterinarian.

No injuries to firefighters or residents were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
