University Of Maryland Commuter Bus Crashes Into Light Pole Injuring Students: Official
More than 30 students were injured when the University of Maryland commuter bus they were riding on crashed into a light pole, police say.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — At least 30 people were hurt after a University of Maryland commuter bus crashed into a light pole in the southbound lanes of Baltimore Avenue near the off-ramp to University Boulevard just after 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.
A total of 56 passengers were on board the charter bus when the crash happened, according to the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department.
The university confirmed in a social media post that the passengers on the bus were students.

“At UMD, we are focused on caring for the members of our community who were impacted by this incident and are committed to providing our students with support for their medical, mental health and academic needs,” the university wrote in a follow-up post.
The 30 people who were hurt were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the fire department said. Another 26 people refused to be transported.
