Vehicle Bursts Into Flames Inside College Park Parking Garage
A vehicle caught on fire, damaging two nearby vehicles, early Sunday inside a College Park parking garage, officials report.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — A vehicle parked on the third floor of a parking garage caught on fire early Sunday morning, causing damage to two nearby vehicles.
The incident happened around 2:56 a.m. at a parking garage located in the 8200 block of Baltimore Avenue. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the vehicle on fire, which was extinguished without injuries. Investigators are checking into the cause of the fire and estimate property loss at $50,000, according to the Prince George's County Fire and Rescue Services.
Later that day, volunteer members from the College Park Volunteer Fire Department returned to the parking garage to examine building fire suppression systems, discuss preplan information and conduct a review of tactics for fighting fires in these types of building.

"Despite the frigid temperatures, crews took advantage of a great training opportunity and lessons learned," the fire department stated.
