UPPER MARLBORO, MD -- A vehicle crashed into an Upper Marlboro restaurant on Tuesday afternoon, injuring nine people, two of them seriously.

Authorities responded to a report of a "possible vehicle into a building/explosion" in the 15900 block of Marlboro Pike, according to a tweet from the Town of Upper Marlboro at 1:13 p.m. The restaurant in question appears to be Babes Boys Tavern.

A total of about 30 patrons were dining in the restaurant at the time, Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady tweeted. A total of nine were injured, with two having serious injuries, five having less-than-serious injuries, and two refusing transport to the hospital. Many of the people inside worked for a Prince George's County judge, Brady said.
