Victim In May Beltsville Car Crash Dies Of Injuries: Police

The truck struck the victim's car after crossing the double yellow line, police say.

BELTSVILLE, MD -- A man has died from his injuries months after a car crash that happened in Beltsville, police say.

Rodney Wood, 57, of Southeast D.C. has died, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

The crash happened at around 4:40 a.m. on May 26 in the 3100 block of Powder Mill Road.

"The preliminary investigation reveals Wood was driving a car southbound on Powder Mill Road and a truck was heading northbound," the report states. "For reasons which remain under investigation, the truck crossed over the double yellow line and struck Wood’s car. Wood was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries. He died on October 3rd. The truck’s driver was not hurt."
