Video Shows Teen Slammed to Floor by School Guard: Report
A security guard at a Prince George's County high school forced a girl to the floor who was being belligerent, officials say.

Concerned parents question the force used by a security guard at a Prince George’s County high school to slam a girl to the floor who was reportedly out of control.
A parent shared the cell phone video of the takedown with NBC4.

School officials say the girl was belligerent and not following orders after an altercation at Laurel High School. A guard can be seen on the video picking up the teen, slamming her to the ground and then forcing her to the principal’s office.
“The incident escalated and the security officer had to use force in order to protect himself and his students and staff around him in that area,” schools spokesperson Sherrie Johnson told the TV station.

Johnson told a reporter there is more to the case than the snippet caught on video, but officials can’t discuss details because of confidentiality policies.
School are investigating the case to ensure procedures were followed.
