Vote In Person Feb. 1 To Fill County Council District 8 Vacancy

Residents of District 8 can vote in person Feb. 1 or place their ballot in a drop box by 8 p.m. Feb. 1 to fill the vacant District 8 seat.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The special general election in-person voting to fill the vacancy in County Council District 8 will be Feb. 1 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex, 7700 Bock Rd., Fort Washington.

Ballots can be delivered to dropboxes by Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Crossland High School, 6901 Temple Hill Road, Camp Springs, MD 20748
  • Southern Regional Technology & Recreation Complex, 7007 Bock Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744
  • Temple Hills Community Center, 5300 Temple Hill Road, Temple Hills, MD 20748
  • Prince George's County Board of Elections, 1100 Mercantile Lane, Suite 115A, Largo, MD 20774

All mailed ballots must be postmarked no later than Feb. 1.

The Prince George’s County board of elections will begin canvassing mail-in/provisional ballots on the following dates and times:

  • 1st mail-in ballot canvass - 10 a.m. on Feb. 3. The mail-in ballot canvass is expected to continue through Feb. 5.
  • Provisional ballot canvass – 10 a.m. on Feb. 9 and is expected to continue through Feb. 11.
  • 2nd mail-in ballot canvass – 10 a.m. on Feb. 11. Any overseas and/or domestic ballots that were postmarked by Election Day, Feb. 1 and meet the other requirements but were delivered by the post office to the board of elections after the first canvass will be counted.

All canvasses will be conducted at the board of elections training center located at 1100 Mercantile Lane, Suite 160, Largo, MD 20774.
