Weekend Homicides: Arrest in 3 Deaths; New Case in Langley Park

A Capitol Heights man is charged with three murders in Oxon Hill. Police are trying to determine if it was domestic dispute that escalated.

A man was charged with a triple murder in Oxon Hill this weekend, while Prince George’s County Police investigate a death in Langley Park.

Clifford John Browne Jr., 34, of Capitol Heights was charged in the Friday deaths of Lakeysha Walters, 40; her daughter Shaneka Walters, 25; and James Gibson, 45.

All three victims were found shot to death in the 1400 block of Southern Avenue, police said.

Police told The Washington Post that Browne had a relationship with Shaneka Walters. Authorities are investigating whether a domestic dispute escalated to the killings, or if Browne had planned the murders.

And in the more recent homicide, the body of an unidentified man was found early Sunday morning outside a Langley Park apartment.

Police found the victim about 6:15 a.m. in the 7900 block 14th Avenue with trauma to his upper body, the department said on Twitter. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
